Man in critical condition after shooting in Ottawa’s west-end

A 23-year-old man was taken to hospital with multiple gunshot wounds following a shooting in the Britannia area early Monday evening.

The shooting occurred in the 100 block of Boyce Avenue, near Carling Avenue, at about 5:45 p.m.

Officers arrived to find that two men, 23 and 34 years old, had sustained gunshot wounds, according to police.

Paramedics say they found the younger man outside a business. He was taken to the trauma centre at the Civic campus of The Ottawa Hospital in critical condition.

The second man was not transported to hospital, say paramedics.

The Ottawa Police Guns and Gangs unit is investigating. Anyone with information is asked to call the Ottawa Police or Crime Stoppers.
